ImpactRx selects wireless solution for data collection, transport needs.

2004 OCT 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Sprint (FON) announced an agreement to provide ImpactRx with a wireless solution for its data collection and transport needs.

Through a multiyear agreement, Sprint will provide wireless voice and data services via PCS Vision Smart Device Treo 600s by palmOne to ImpactRx's exclusive network of high-volume prescribing physicians. ImpactRx plans to equip over 1,000 physicians with the Sprint solution by March 2005.

ImpactRx has a longitudinal panel of several thousand physicians across the United States who use electronic PDA technology to collect pharmaceutical industry promotion activity and physician treatment decisions for every pharmaceutical product currently marketed.

Based on this new agreement, Sprint will now provide ImpactRx with a wireless solution, which will enable immediate receipt of the data collected by the physicians, anywhere on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.

This mobile solution will keep ImpactRx on the cutting edge, allowing them to continue to deliver accurate, timely insight and solutions that help their pharmaceutical clients develop effective sales and marketing strategies.

"Sprint was able to work with our development team to design and implement a comprehensive solution that will enable our physicians to experience mobility and instant connectivity," said Patrick Bergin, senior director of Network Operations for ImpactRx.

"The Sprint wireless solution facilitates our ability to meet clients' needs, as well as provide terrific benefits to our physician members."

Sprint solutions for healthcare comprise a vast portfolio of connectivity, security and business-continuity solutions designed to streamline access to the data that fuels the industry. Healthcare professionals nationwide rely on Sprint for data, Internet, voice and wireless solutions.

Sprint is leveraging its communications portfolio and partners to deliver the capabilities that healthcare providers need to improve quality of care and manage costs.

These services and solutions include mobile solutions and applications, medical imaging, patient entertainment and communication, remote consultations, teleradiology, and distance learning.

Founded in October 2000, ImpactRx physician network is the only source of longitudinal data coming from a fixed panel of high prescribing physicians.
